Woo Hoo November!!!

November usually kicks off some big events and has also brought a few milestones for our family! November 10 actually marks my official due date, which is very weird considering that Charlotte and Cassidy will be 9 weeks old this Saturday. It boggles my mind every time I think about it - especially given how absolutely fantastic they're doing now! Both over 6 lbs each, they show more and more personality everyday. First born, Charlotte is the smaller twin and is very easy going and relaxed but at the same time has this sense of urgency about her that I can't explain. Even though Charlotte is more relaxed, she always seems to be in a hurry! Cassidy on the other hand seems to be developing a very different personality! She always wants to be held, she loves to be snuggled. Cassidy comes off as less independent than Charlotte but they both seem to enjoy being in the action! Well, when they're awake at least!!!

Ever since Scott & I found out we were expecting twins I never thought I would say this --- but life with twins is not nearly as stressful as I imagined! Granted right now all the girls do is eat and sleep, so ask me again in about 3 months!
My next point of excitement? Opening weekend of deer hunting!!!! YaY!!!! hahaha I know, some of you may be caught a bit off guard or even think I'm being sarcastic.. But I'm not! I'm a hunter, or huntress even. Didn't even shoot a gun until Scott & I started dating. Oh, and I did it very badly I might add! For those that know anything about shooting, we found out later that I'm left-eye dominate but I'm right handed. We found this out when I started shooting pistols and other handguns with amazing accuracy but still couldn't hit a target with a rifle to save my life! So anyway, I shoot left handed now.
This is the 2nd buck I've taken since I started hunting!
I could have looked more excited in this picture but dang I was tired!!!!

Deer season is a big deal for us, its something that Scott & I do together and hope to do with our girls someday. It starts with our DVR getting kicked into high gear as we record all of our favorite hunting shows and sit in the evenings and gawk at monster bucks that we would only see on the hoof in our DREAMS!!!! haha Then a few evenings before dark we'll drive around close to our hunting spots with a pair of binoculars and see if whats out there. And now this week its all about making sure scopes are zeroed, camo is organized and everything is in working order. I never thought I'd love hunting the way I do but it is AWESOME. When I'm hunting I feel this profound connection to nature and at the same time feel the exhilaration of waiting to see if the right buck will show himself.

Then, my highlight of the month of November... Thanksgiving!!! Possibly my favorite holiday, but not really because its "Thanksgiving" but because of what we do every Thanksgiving. For the last 3 years, Scott & I pack our bags, jump in a car and head for Denver.  Our love for the state of Colorado runs incredibly deep. The first vacation we took as a couple we went skiing at Eldora and Loveland. Scott proposed to me in the summer of 2003 at Lookout Mountain on the west side of Denver after a LOOONG day at WaterWorld!!! We got married at Elk Ridge Ranch just outside of Breckenridge in October of 2004....

So, aside from the birth of our children all of our most monumental events and fondest memories were made in Colorado. Either the day before Thanksgiving or the morning of (we haven't really decided yet) we will pack up with the kiddos and head for Denver!!! Where we will stay with my wonderful Aunt & Uncle, get to spend time with my bro and his kick ass fiancĂ©e, eat until we can't stand up and hopefully watch our Huskers come out victorious against Colorado!!!

So, I'm really excited for the rest of this month... :)
