Sponge Bob Sponge Bob Sponge Bob....

I just want to start off by saying that its the little accomplishments in life that make a mom proud! At least it is for me..!

Scott and I have been diligently working on Kymberlyn's new "big girl" room every weekend for about the last 3 weeks. Well, I'm really too "round" to be of much help right now, so Scott's been diligently working and I've been standing sitting there while he asks me what I think we should do or what I'd like to have done next. While it has taken alot of thought to "toddler proof" a room, I think we've done a pretty decent job.

The other side of this project has been preparing Kymberlyn for the mountain of changes that will be occurring in her life in the next few months. That's made me more nervous than anything!!! While she's a very laid-back, go-with-the-flow kind of child I really didn't want to shake her world up more than I had to. So while we've been working on her new room, we've let her join us each time and "help".  This has actually made her really excited -to the point of telling anybody about it who will listen, or can understand her at least!

We moved her into a bedroom across the hall from our bedroom on the second level of our home.  Her nursery was on the main floor, which was VERY convenient - hence we'll be needing it for the twins! And this saved Scott the headache of trying to disassemble a crib.

I really wanted her new room to be something she would love and want to spend time in! Something very kid oriented, functional that she could call her own. I've never understood decorating a child's room in a way that's more "eye-appealing" to the adult, it just doesn't make any sense to me.  So, we went all out with a theme of "Sponge Bob" for her room!!! Its one of her favorite shows and its super easy to find in-expensive decorations to bring it all together. We also bought chalkboard paint (if you haven't heard of it, I'd HIGHLY recommend checking it out) and painted a section of her wall with it.

So this weekend was last major weekend to finish up her room before she could really start trying it out. This past Friday we decided to let her get good and tired and see if she would take a nap in her new room.  We moved her baby monitor in there and took our unit into the living room with us.  I would have to say Scott and I were both nervous to see what would happen! haha But, it couldn't be as bad as sleep training right??? We put her in her new bed, tucked her in and shut the door.

Silence....

This accompanied more silence for the next 15 minutes until Scott couldn't handle it and had to go listen at her door in case the monitor "malfunctioned". Still silence... She slept in there for 2 hours before we heard any noise!!! SUCCESS!!!!!! The relieve I felt was unbelievable, but again, it was just a nap... We'd try it that night to see if she'd sleep through the night in there.

Now, 4 nights and 3 naps later we've had very minimal adjustment issues!!! She's woke up twice - last night one of us had to go in there and tuck her back in, but its been a relatively smooth transition otherwise. Thank goodness!!!

I'm such a slacker...

UGH!!!!

I can't believe its been so long sine I've posted anything... Tells ya exactly how busy a person can get, well, it tells me how busy I feel anyway.

I started working outside the home,n shortly after my last post, worked part-time, then full-time and now I'm back home again!!! Its weird to think that the end of May was my last day at the clinic and I probably won't be "clocking-in" at another job for a VERY long time!

Yup, full-time mom once again!!!! While I loved my "break" at a job, it'll never be as rewarding at being home... Probably not as stressful, but full-time mom is more rewarding! It'll be interesting to see how things change for Scott & I after the twins arrive.  Not to mention how we'll adapt. Preparations are still in full swing, although I'm not as mobile as I once was!!!

Kymberlyn has been moved into her new "big girl" room, which I'm so glad that she loves. I need to take pictures while its still clean! So now that leaves me free to work on the nursery and start re-organizing to prep for 2 newborns... Ugh... What a task!!! More on that later.

Here's what our current to-do list looks like!!! Yikes...

Purchase 2nd chest freezer
Clean out laundry room (I need the space, its too cluttered)
Size/Wash/Organize Baby Clothes
Rearrange nursery to accompany 2 cribs
Finish building closet in our bedroom
Make 3-5 meals to freeze each week (I'm open to suggestions)
Figure out car seat arrangements in the Trailblazer

This week is all about laundry and getting the pile of clean laundry folded and OFF my couch!!! Check back later to see how that all worked out for me...
